Cookies and local storage
Cookie policy
Last updated: 25 October 2026
This is an English translation provided for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the Romanian version prevails.
1. In short
The Cai Borșa website does not use analytics, marketing or advertising cookies and does not use Google Analytics. We don’t track what you do on the site and we don’t build a profile of you.
That’s why we don’t show you a cookie consent banner: there is nothing we would need to ask your consent for.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small files that a website can save in your browser. Some are strictly necessary for the site to work. Others are used for statistics or advertising and require your consent under Romanian Law no. 506/2004 and Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).
3. What we keep in your browser
The only thing the site may save in your browser (using “local storage”, a technology similar to cookies) is:
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| The “Quiet, Scarto” preference | If you choose to turn off messages from Scarto, our guide, the site remembers your choice so he won’t bother you on your next visit. | Until you delete it in your browser settings |
This information is saved only if you press the button yourself, contains no personal data and is not sent anywhere. Because it is a feature you explicitly request, it does not require separate consent (Art. 4(5) of Romanian Law no. 506/2004).
For your convenience, the site may also briefly remember (only for the current browser session) that you have closed the language suggestion, so that it isn’t shown again.
4. Third-party content
The fonts, images and videos on the site are hosted on our own server. We don’t load content from Google, YouTube, Facebook or other networks that could set cookies.
The site does, however, contain links to WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and Google Maps. When you follow them, you go to those companies’ websites, which may use their own cookies under their own policies. We have no control over those cookies.
5. How to control storage
You can delete cookies and data saved by websites at any time in your browser settings (usually under “Privacy” or “Browsing data”). If you delete the “Quiet, Scarto” preference, our guide will show messages again on your next visit.
6. Changes
If we ever add tools that use cookies requiring your consent (for example visitor statistics), we will update this page and ask for your consent before turning them on.
